This comprehensive guide provides information on planting, weed control, disease management, soil fertility, harvest, storage, and many other components of barley production. To receive a copy of this guide, please contact the office of the North Dakota Barley Council. The North Dakota Barley Council supported the development of a “Barley Disease Handbook” which provides a very comprehensive view of numerous barley diseases. Developed with high quality color photography, this guide can assist growers, agronomists, and crop consultants in identifying a number of barley diseases. To receive a copy of this guide, please contact the office of the North Dakota Barley Council. Growers participating in the USDA-FSA farm program are interested in understanding how the loan deficiency payment (LDP) is calculated for barley. The North Dakota Barley Council has developed a fact sheet to assist growers in understanding this process. If you would like a copy of this fact sheet, please click on the line below. The North Dakota Barley Council has historically supported data collection, analysis, and publication of the annual quality of the barley crop produced in North Dakota and parts of Minnesota. This report provides information such as protein, plump, thin, 1000 kernel weight, suitability for malting, and overall U. S. Grade. The quality analysis is conducted for each National Agricultural Statistics Service Crop Reporting District (CRD) in North Dakota. Following is a list of crop quality publications available on this web site.
