BARLEY IN LIVESTOCK

Considerable research has been conducted on the benefits and management considerations in feeding arley to beef cattle, dairy cattle, sheep, swine, and poultry.  The North Dakota Barley Council has supported projects to increase the utilization of barley in livestock.

The North Dakota Barley Council has supported development of a number of publications that provide information on the nutritional and feed value of barley in comparison with other feed grains, and to provide recommendations for including barley in livestock rations.
